ER24 Australia Pty Ltd – Safety, Health, Environment and Community Policy Statement (SHEC Policy Statement)

Our Goal: “Work Safe – Stay Safe”

The Management of ER24 Australia Pty Ltd are committed to the ongoing health and safety of our employees, our suppliers, our clients along with the health of the environment and the communities we live and work amongst. Protection of our employees from workplace injury and disease is our prime objective.

We are committed to continued improvement of our safety and health standards with a target of an accident-free workplace through effective administration, education, training and resource allocation.

All employees, from the Directors to senior management, to new employees, must be dedicated to the continuing objective of eliminating or reducing risks:

  • of injury and disease in the workplace;
  • of environmental impact and damage;
  • to the health of surrounding communities.

This will be undertaken by hazard identification, risk assessment and implementing the most appropriate and effective controls. Identifying hazards and preventing incidents from occurring in the first instance is our aim.

Our philosophy is that the well-being of our Company, our clients, the environment and the community is dependent on the on-going health and safety commitment of our workforce. The Directors and Officers of this corporation promise that every precaution reasonable, in all circumstances, will be taken to ensure the health and safety of all employees.  No task is to be regarded so urgent that time cannot be taken to do it in a safe manner, this is paramount in providing emergency services to our clients – the welfare of our employees is our greatest concern.

Senior management will develop and provide adequate training resources and educational services to ensure the health and safety of our employees along with development, implementation and continued review and maintenance of our Safety, Health and Environment Management System (SHEMS).  Senior management will consult with employees on all issues involving the health and safety of the workplace, environmental impact, and the health of surrounding communities – consultation is recognised by the Company as the most important tool for effective review and implementation of change.

Supervisors will be responsible for the health and safety of employees under their supervision. Supervisors are responsible to ensure that equipment required for use by each worker is in a safe working condition, both for health of the employee along with the health of the environment, and that each employee works in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures for each task and piece of equipment. Employees must receive adequate training and competencies in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety and that of the environment and surrounding communities.

All supervisors, employees, contractors and suppliers must ensure their own health and safety and that of their fellow workers by working in compliance with the current Queensland Workplace Health and Safety Act and the current Queensland Coal Mining Safety & Health Act, the current Queensland Environmental Protection Act and all applicable regulations and safe work practices and procedures established by our clients and our Company.

We recognise that a safe work, safe environment and safe community can only be established and sustained through a united effort by all employees, contractors and suppliers; and the assistance of each person is required to attain this goal. Your attitude and cooperation in promoting risk management and injury prevention will continue to support our goal: “Work Safe – Stay Safe” and make our Company not only a leader in pre-hospital emergency care, medical, occupational health, emergency response, evacuation, health & safety, security and safety services, but a leader in safety in all areas – one where employees share in corporate growth and success.
